August 19 ,21 and September 4 Special Workshops |
OHS sponsoring Special Workshops Participants will have a hands-on opportunity to learn about tuckpointing masonry, floor refinishing and plastering from two of the people doing the restoration and repair at the historic antebellum mansion near Towanda. Workshop materials fee is $20 for OHS members and $25 for non-members. A minimum of five participants is needed and a maximum of 20 will be accepted for any one session. Advance registration and fee payment is needed to ensure enough materials for each workshop. Morris Tick Company

Scrap Metal Drive Morris Tick Company will accept scrap metal to benefit Old House Society during a special scrap metal drive September 9 through 13. Those wishing to donate scrap metal for the drive may deliver it to Morris Tick Company, 501 E. Stewart St., Bloomington, during regular business hours and indicate at the time of drop off that the material is for the Old House Society scrap metal drive. Scrap metal may also be dropped off at the Old House Society Warehouse at 214 East Douglas Street, Bloomington, that week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
