Restoration

Old House Society acquired the 1882 Charles Cantine house at 904 North Linden Street in June 2005 to be used as an Education Center. Our goal is to restore it back to its original 1880s era design. Follow our progress with the photos on this page. If you would like to volunteer on this project, contact us (volunteer@oldhousesociety.org).

Stage 2

The major cleanup is complete including removing all of the carpeting. In the kitchen, we have also removed the subfloor to reveal what we believe is the original pine tongue-and-groove flooring. Similar flooring appears to exist below the laminate "hardwood" flooring in the living, dining, and bedrooms.
